The Blue Moon Team will be attending the Naples Watermelon Festival with family and friends. The Naples Rodeo & Watermelon Festival is held the last full weekend in July. The event draws people from Oklahoma, Arkansas and of course everyone in a 60 mile radius of Naples, Texas.

The Watermelon Festival has one of the major parades in North East Texas, craft booths, special entertainment, a street dance, and a fully sanctioned PRCA rodeo during the week of events. As expected, there are watermelons "a'plenty" at the Watermelon Festival. Our East Texas melons are about as good as it gets. They are enjoyed by young and old alike, as you can see by the pictures below.


Also, the pictures below give a little indication of the Watermelon Festival parade. Over the years, this has become a really significant parade. It is a big hit with people from near and far.


The fully sanctioned PRCA rodeo was my favorite event of the whole week. The Rodeo started on Thursday Night with a Grand Entry Parade where all the locals can show off their horses and many talents on horse back. They had events for all ages, from mutton bustin' to bull riding.  Our very own Blue Moon Team Member Valerie Barnard will be joining the Rodeo fun, by entering the Barrel Racing Event.



This little cowboy is ready to ride. Ain't he cute? He is going to be one of our future bull riders.
